On 6th March 2019 the Brighton & Hove Green Spaces Forum held its first Spring Seminar at Brighthelm in Brighton. Over 80 people were in attendance with more than 40 member and partner groups represented. The key note speaker was Professor Dave Goulson from the University of Sussex who presented on ‘Gardening to save the planet’. After a pollinator recognition quiz, Steve Peters who is the Garden Manager for The Level in Brighton presented on ‘How to encourage bio-diversity in open green spaces’. The final speakers were CityParks Rangers Sally Graham-Macleod and Paul Gorringe who gave an over view of the ‘Wildflower Conservation Society – Brighton & Beyond’ and conservation initiatives in Brighton & Hove.
Feedback from those present has been excellent, so the Forum will definitely look to running a similar event at the same time next year.
