Green Space Volunteer Questionnaire – Results are out!
Earlier this year the BHGSF commissioned a group of Brighton University business students to undertake a membership survey. The focus of this being training received and identified as needed by green space volunteer groups.
In addition to the insight the survey results give both the BHGSF and CityParks, it is hoped they will also support the Council’s 2016 Volunteering Policy ‘aim to create a consistent approach to volunteering’ and the Council’s 2017 Open Spaces Strategy (section 3.7 – Volunteering). The Forum will use the results to support the furtherance of training opportunities for its members.
A key objective was to understand the benefits of training received by green space volunteers. A secondary objective was to identify preferred methods of course application and contact media. There was also an opportunity to highlight wishes and issues.
The questionnaire was sent out to 75 BHGSF member groups. Responses were received from 45. A summary of the survey results has been EMailed to all BHGSF member groups. Full results can be seen in the ‘Resources’ section of the BHGSF website.
