Group volunteering in parks, clarification
The Forum was asked to publish the following clarification message from David Larkin, Conservation Manager, Brighton & Hove CityParks:
Dear Green Spaces Volunteers
The local alert level has just been raised from yellow to amber, see
https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/covid-19-key-statistics-brighton-hove/current-alert-level-and-guidance
Unfortunately this means that the plans we had to restart group volunteering need to be put on hold as the risk assessment that we are awaiting sign off on specifies that group volunteering can only be carried out while the risk rating is yellow or below.
I realise that many of you are itching to get back to volunteering but the current situation is that no volunteer groups have permission to work on CityParks land until further notice.
We have written to Public Health England asking for more specific advice and I will be in contact again as soon as we are in a position to restart group volunteering
Regards
David Larkin
