Volunteers needed for Apple Day – 23rd Sept 2018 – a celebration of local produce and sustainable practice
On Apple Day over 6,000 people come together to celebrate all things appley. This family friendly village fair festival at Stanmer Park each year is an active show of support for a locally produce fruit – the apple – and all the wonderful products that can be made with it.
The day involves orchard tours, music, entertainment for kids, local craft stalls, and lots of yummy food and drink, including apple juice and cider produced on site!
Apple Day, on the 23rd Sept 2018, is the biggest annual event of the year of Brighton Permaculture Trust, a charity that promotes greener lifestyles and sustainability by balancing the environments, individual’s, and the community needs.
We need between 50 and 100 volunteers to run the event doing tasks from bar work, to cooking, to site set up, to apple juicing. Volunteers get a meal, and the opportunity to learn from sustainable experts, and share in the success of this unique community centric event.
