Here at Westdene Green, a carefully orchestrated plan for Sunday morning work on The Green was enjoyed on the 7th November by our new members. We sited four 1000L tanks and laid a plastic irrigation pipe so as to be ready for our expected set of trees to the east of The Barn Community Centre. These will form a small orchard, and they will be planted this winter, with fully automatic watering, harvested from the Barn roof. There is also the facility to charge and discharge to a mobile trailer tanker.
The Green is a playing space both for footy, and for foxes who have been starting to dig for morsels like worms. So we bought in some quarried snad/grit filler, and have filled in their efforts and seeded the surface. Sorry foxes, but you will still call at my house, I’m sure.
